A wonderful place to enjoy stunning interiors.

Your Interior Design Store

Home and studio of Interior Designer and Decorator, Beatrice Agnew.

Tanawha House is located in the leafy green heart of the Sunshine Coast hinterland at Tanawha, just down the road from Buderim. The main building has been the destination store for antique and quality reproduction furniture for nearly 20 years. Largely built by the previous owners, Gerard and Johanna Grooteman, there is unique craftsmanship evident throughout the home reflecting their traditional and European heritage.

Interior Designer Beatrice Agnew and her family purchased the property in late 2013 and have began the transformation of the old antiques store into a stunning industrial space complete with interior design services, homewares, gifts, custom furniture and a captivating Tea Room. Beatrice’s vision to create a beautiful, stylish space for her design clientele to visit has well and truly come to life. She also has grand plans for the old antique shop, which is now the family home, and is hoping to establish Tanawha House as a beautiful establishment and garden to delight all those who visit.

A unique combination of comfort and style.

Once you meet Beatrice, you will feel at home. You will likely find treasures that will take pride of place in your home.

What a great spot for coffee and cake on a lazy Saturday morning – and I am so pleased with my lovely ‘egg basket’. Maybe I should have waited until we actually get the real chickens, but I couldn’t risk missing out on it!

Is Tanawha House a part of the Maze?

This is the most common question we get! No we are not part of the Bellingham Hedge Maze Complex. They are our lovely next door neighbors and their driveway and car-park are directly off Tanawha Tourist Drive. Unfortunately there is no foot access between the two business.

Can we still go into the old antique shop?

The old antique shop which included the entire bottom floor of Tanawha House is no longer open to the public. We are conducting renovations to convert the old shop section and the original home upstairs into one large family home. You can follow our progress when we start updating our blog.
